Matthew Lewis PT, MHA

Director of Rehabilitation, Physical Therapist, MHA

Matthew Lewis hails from North Carolina and relocated to New Mexico in early 2021 to lead the rehabilitation team at RMCH. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Winston-Salem State University and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University. With 24 years of experience, Matthew has excelled in clinical patient care and leadership roles across various settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, sports medicine facilities, and long-term care centers.

His clinical specialties include neurologic rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, post-acute rehabilitation, and expertise in wheelchairs and seating/positioning solutions.

Barbara Whiston Physical Therapist

Barbara Whiston graduated from the University of New Mexico as a Physical Therapist and brings 27 years of experience across various settings, including outpatient care, acute inpatient care, wound care, and school-based physical therapy services. She has pursued extensive continuing education in geriatric specialty certification, wound care, orthopedic therapy, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Justin Mazon Physical Therapist Assistant

Justin Mazon holds an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Assisting (BSPTA) from Pima Medical Institute. He is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion Therapy (AIB-VRC), FMT Basic RockTape, and FMT Basic RockBlades Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Additionally, Justin is a certified Physical Therapist Assistant Clinical Instructor.

He has earned a Certificate in Applied Functional Science and Three-Dimensional Movement Analysis and Performance System from the Gray Institute and is Level 1 Functional Movement Screening Certified. With eight years of experience, Justin has worked in outpatient care, inpatient settings, home health, and sports rehabilitation.

Pawel Gredecki PT, DPT

Pawel Gredecki was born and raised in Poland and moved to the United States in 2001. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Andrews University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Weimar College in 2004. Since becoming a licensed physical therapist, Pawel has specialized in outpatient orthopedic care, focusing on orthopedic manual therapy and treating neuromuscular dysfunctions.

In his clinical practice, Pawel employs a wide range of advanced therapeutic methods, including joint manipulations and mobilizations, dry needling, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, Total Motion Release, Whelton Myofascial Referral Technique, Primal Reflex Release Technique, and the McKenzie Method.

Alexis Troncoso M.S., OTR/L

Alexis Troncoso earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences School of Medicine. She is certified in Saebo dynamic wrist-hand orthoses. She has experience working with adults who have hand injuries, neurological impairments, movement disorders, and needs related to wheelchair seating and mobility.

Born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, Alexis is honored to provide occupational therapy services in her hometown.

Austin Smith PTA

Austin Smith holds an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Physical Therapy from Pima Medical Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, Austin is excited and grateful to begin his career at RMCHCS. He is deeply committed to giving back to his community by delivering high-quality healthcare to the residents of Gallup and the surrounding reservations.

Nick Romero PT, DPT

Nick Romero was born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, and graduated from Gallup High School at the top of his class. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with honors from New Mexico State University. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of New Mexico.

Nick has a diverse background in sports and physical therapy. He has worked with athletes across a variety of sports at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels, including baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, running, and skiing. He is also highly skilled in treating orthopedic injuries, with a particular focus on ACL reconstruction rehabilitation.

Cathy Mikesic OTR/L

Cathy Mikesic earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She has extensive experience in acute care, school-based services, and pediatrics. Cathy specializes in working with patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, neurological and cognitive impairments, and developmental delays. She also provides guidance on ergonomic techniques and adaptations.

Cathy moved to Gallup in 2007, where she met and married her husband. She cherishes being a part of the Gallup community.

Jerdy Fiedacan PTA

Jerdy Fiedacan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from AMEC-BCCM in Legaspi City, Philippines. After graduation, he worked as a Physical Therapy instructor at Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation in the Philippines.

In 2011, Jerdy joined RMCHCS Home Health as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In 2023, he transitioned to the RMCHCS Wellness Center Team, continuing his role as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Mike Faz MPT

With over 27 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Mike Faz specializes in manual therapy, including mobilization, manipulation, trigger point dry needling, craniosacral techniques, and visceral manipulation. He earned his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin.

Mike is deeply committed to helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and takes pride in building strong connections with each individual he treats. For the past 23 years, a Gallup resident, Mike is proud to call the area home and is dedicated to staying near piñon and New Mexico green chile.
