The mission of RMCHCS is to serve God by making a profound and lasting difference in the health and quality of life for all people in the community.
RMCHCS serves as a cornerstone of healthcare for northwestern New Mexico and eastern Arizona, building on a proud tradition of care that dates back over a century. As a private, not-for-profit healthcare network, our mission is to enhance the health and wellness of our diverse community through compassionate, high-quality, and accessible medical services.
Our story begins in the early 1900s with the founding of two institutions, Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Services and St. Mary’s Hospital, both established to provide healthcare to the people of Gallup and the nearby Navajo and Zuni communities. St. Mary’s Hospital, located near downtown Gallup, became McKinley General Hospital in the late 1970s. In 1983, Rehoboth Christian Hospital joined forces with McKinley General Hospital to form RMCHCS, consolidating resources to meet the region’s growing needs. Today, RMCHCS operates as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit healthcare system, serving rural McKinley County with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Our dedication to quality is reflected in our accreditation by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ), underscoring our efforts to maintain the highest standards of care.
RMCHCS will work together to become a regional leader in the delivery of excellent healthcare.
