Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- General Surgery

Job Summary:

Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and other disorders. Also works to promote good health and prevent illness. Provides continuing and comprehensive medical care, health maintenance and preventative services to all, regardless of sex, age, or type of problem, be it biological, behavioral, or social. Required to work under the supervision of a Physician. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: Education: * Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Nurse Practitioner required. Experience: * Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred. Required Licensure/Certification(s): * New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners License required. * Current appropriate certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc. (if not current upon hire, must be obtained within three (3) months of hire). Or Physician Assistant Position summary: Physician Assistant will evaluate patients and administer care to treat illnesses, diseases, and physical or mental problems. Physician assistant assesses patient symptoms and conditions, conducting careful examinations to determine the nature of their illness and any potential treatments. Will write notes in patient charts detailing these symptoms and treatments. Physician assistant work in collaborative environments with other medical staff. The Physician Assistant is responsible for completing all duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Education: * An appropriate advanced degree that will allow licensure is required. Experience: * Previous experience as a Physician Assistant preferred. Required Licensure/Certification(s): * Physician Assistant-Certified credential from NCCPA required. * New Mexico Medical Board for PA License required.
